My Crime? I Am A Woman…

He took my rib to make the most dumb thing ever

He took my rib to make the dumbest thing ever

Marxists view the world as a society composed of classes, the clergy view it as a society of sinners and puritans, the philosophers as a society of the observers and the observed, historians and sociologists look at this mortal world as a mixture of cultures, different people look at the world through different eyes. Through the glasses their roles require them to look at this absurd human drama, and yet somewhere we’ve forgotten to look at ourselves as human beings as man and women.

Women in Mangalore are attacked because they are women, moral brigade is up in arms against Frieda Pinto because she is a woman, Fiza is denied justice because she is a woman, acid is thrown on a child on her way to school in Afghanistan because she is a woman, houses are denied to single women and why not? Born out of a man’s rib bone women are to blame for all the miseries in the world. It was Heva or Eve who brought sin to the world, Eve was the reason man was thrown out of Eden and had to face the hardships of the real world. It was Pandora’s curiosity that brought sorrow to the world and Helen’s defiance and love that brought war upon Troy, Draupadi’s Vastraharan that caused Mahabharata, Sita’s beauty that caused Ram to declare a war on Lanka. Women have for centuries been blamed for everything that goes wrong, a child becomes spoilt because of mother’s love, a family looses honor because of a woman’s emotions or love and is often termed as defiance. Man is righteous and hence man will forever be free of blame.

What kind of losers are we to believe in that crap? I mean seriously!?

Our society is fundamentally made of two kinds of people not capitalists and laborers not laymen and clergy, but of man and women. And both have their importance, importance that cannot be denied. A man is nothing without a woman and woman is nothing without a man and this society is nothing without either. And yet women are placed below men when it comes to social hierarchy, why? Well that’s what the Bible teaches us, a woman was made from a man’s rib bone and not from the soil like man, the doomed city of Babylon is represented by the famous whore who sits on a beast. Is our history biased? Or is it that we’re wired that way, wired to accept that women are lesser of a species?

I dunno, but I would like someone to answer that? Why does history portray women as a lesser being? Why do religious texts portray them as whores and gossip mongers? Is it not because men are ready to pay for their carnal desired that women become prostitutes? Is it not because our society has resigned them to the four walls of our homes and kitchen that they find time to gossip and spread rumors?

I mean a man can remain a bachelor if he chooses to no one says a word but why isn’t that the case with women? A man can sleep around with whoever he wishes to but the moment a woman does we call her a woman with a loose character, a slut or a whore? Why are women looked upto as keepers of morality, do men have no share in that?

It’s depressing to see how our societies have evolved over a period of time. Women who once were deities and commanded respect are now beaten up on the streets, acid is thrown on them, their dignity questioned and above all paid lower wages!

I too am a victim of the above mentioned stereotyping, I believe that most, if not all, women are dumb and would prefer to spend my time with men than with a woman.

We seriously need a total brainwashing, we need to erase all the pre-fed data in our brains.

We need change.

I need some grass.

Hmmm…..many of my friends think of me as wuss because I do not see girls as “maal”(booty).I dont know, why did human society decide to go up in arms against women. But nevertheless I suppose its one of the evolutionary flaws. Like man’s scapegoat for to blame all his problems upon.
I have the highest regard for women, just cant imagine a life without them.

Well, Mr. Vyas I stand to disagree with you on your claim that the above mentioned phenomenon is an evolutionary flaw, for anthropological evidence shows that there was a point in time in human history when women held a position higher than men in the sociological hierarchy, that was the time when women were thought of to be divine/mystical entities – ever wondered how “Mother Nature” was one of the first Gods that came into being? That was the time when conception was thought of to be a phenomenon associated with women only and men did not seem to have a part to play in the process of reproduction hence women/mother was thought to be the creator of life, and hence nature, the creator of everything was thought of to be as a feminine entity and not a masculine entity.
Over a period of time thanks to man’s observational skills it was observed that man plays an important if not the most important role in the process of conception and that was the point in our sociological evolution when women lost their social standing and were reduced to an object that stands to fulfill nothing but carnal pleasures. And therefore you see it’s not an evolutionary flaw, it is a concept/belief imbibed in us through generations of conditioning.

This is the most pessimistic post i have read in my entire life, though sadly; every bit of it is true. But i guess this is not the right way to look at life after all women despite having suffered those setbacks have made tremendous progress & continue to do so. They have matched & even defeated men on innumerable occasions & have gained an upper hand.

I am glad Mr. Pushkar that I had the opportunity to make you read one of the saddest yet a true post about the condition of our women.
As far as your comments are concerned, I’d say, who’re are you trying to fool Mr Pushkar? Women have made tremendous progress you say? Well its a claim as hollow as any Indian government’s claim so far “India’s 8%growth has befitted everyone”. Well, sir I beg to differ. Even today there are instances of child marriages, sati, rape, wives being beaten up, education being denied, female infanticide and what not? Cast your eye down the nearest slum and you’ll see what I am talking of.
Female bosses are, even today, a hard reality, a reality men often swallow with a lot of difficulty. Daughters enjoy far less freedom than our sons. Wives are often at the receiving end of their husband’s wrath. Dowry and dowry related deaths are still realities we live with. And you say women have come a long way, that they have made progress? I can do nothing at this point but laugh at your short sighted view on life and realities that surround us.

I am not here to fool anyone. As far as my comments go every bit of it is true & rational.
I believe a journey from being the victims of heinous crimes you mentioned (sati, child marriages, infanticide…) to the post of President of India is extraordinary & that is what i call tremendous progress. You may not agree.

Secondly, i guess you have not read my comments with all your senses awake. Here i would like to repeat the relevant phrase “women despite having suffered those setbacks have made tremendous progress & continue to do so”. I think the last few words do clarify that the process is ongoing & not complete. This also refutes your claim of me being short-sighted. This should suffice.

Everything you wrote is true. The things we see everyday around us happening to females. Why does it happen? Cause you let it happen. You don’t fight back. It’s that simple.
Why does the society give women a lower rank than men? See the Peacock and the Peahen. Which is more attractive? Everyone curses the mosquito because of the sleepless nights they give. Remember it’s the female mosquito that is the trouble causer. Seahorses? The male takes the effort to carry the offspring till birth.

Those may look like awkward arguments or just exceptions. Maybe yeah. But was Mother Nature glad enough to give males the advantage over the female?

Am suffering from this. Yeah, a kind of discrimination. Girls get an advantage everywhere. Free this and free that. Yeah, it’s for the good. To undo the discrimination done to the women community. Hell ya.

Problems of Child marraiges, Sati and Dowry. There is a female element that caused all that everywhere. Well, that’s what my Social Science Madam tought us! (Most problem is caused by the mind set of the Mother In Law, isn’t it?).

I know. You won’t agree. You will still complain that Females are looked down and insulted. If you look around like that, then the truth is everyone(man and woman alike) is getting insulted. Life is short ma’am, and for the same reason, I learned to love and respect every life form around. And I have learnt, complaining results in no solution, get down there, get dirty and get what you want.
